In 1947, Bombay Talkies produced Naukadubi in Bengali and the Hindi version
Milan. The story was based on Rabindra Nath Tagore’s novel of the same name that is
Naukadubi. Here Parul Ghosh lent her voice to the character Hemnalini played by Meera
Sarkar in the Bengali and Ranjana in the Hindi version. The music was by Anil Biswas.
Trainer for the songs of Parul Ghosh was Anadi Dastidar in the Bengali version..

All the three records were published in September, 1947. All these six songs from
Naukadubi were Tagore songs and Anadi Dastidar was the trainer. The film had two
other songs which were not probably published as records. One was Baadar Dake Baadar
by Shankar Dasgupta , while the other one was Dukher Barashay Chokher Jal by Pahari
Sanyal. Anil Biswas set these songs to tune.
